edit - Z, I got a woody when I saw dragothic low break 300 fps

And that was at 180.... yes, I am LOVING the card!!! and I haven't even fired up a game yet

also, I am going to do this benching now. I just cleaned out my old r8500 drivers (thoroughly as I do of course) and then removed 8500. I then put in r9700 pro and am running. I'm gonna bench here for a bit then put on clean OS install and see if there really will be a difference in installing the OS fresh with new card. At this time, I don't think there will be since I completely removed all ATI stuff before installing new r9700. But I'll do it anyway so I'll know for sure

edit 2 - and NOW, after getting my ATI r9700 pro box, understand your sig Z

Remember to check out the IQ and run everything at least at 2fsaa-4fsaa !, some of those games will be transformed.

she don't like the high fsb...

yet! I know its the r9700 because for the past 6 months the r8500 in same rig ran 190-195-200 even. Now put in r9700 and the most she'll do for me is a 188 fsb to complete 3dmark. 190 and keep getting dragothic hard freeze

I hope after she warms up a few days she'll let me taker her on up to my 195 holding pattern

Mine costed $600... (for the 6 year warranty too... heh, hopefully I'll not be using a new card before that warranty wears out...) well, cdn so I only overpaid by like a $100 bucks US.

I'd overclock my bios but I have an asus A7S333 and its overclocking options are sticky at best. It has software O/C but it has no multiplyer value which is my preffered method... being it smuch safer than conventional means...

But now I'll ebay mr. gainward Ti4200 for like $100 and end up $125 out of pocket for me new r9700 pro

Guess next upgrade part will be a next gen mobo that locks AGP at 66 for me

That is awesome shuki, that card is awesome in gameplay when you crank up the eyecandy. Not to sound like a fanboy but its hard not to praise that card when you see what it can do with everything turned up.wOOT! shuki

todd you hit the nail on the head. I've spent the better part of my time today reinstalling everything and benching and OCing and upping fsb etc. Well I just finally installed MOHAA and Spearhead. I turned on everything in the advanced options, video and audio. Cranked it up and turned it on (volumentric smoke the whole works). In advanced driver settings I have slider in middle and AA and Aniso maxed. Fired up spearhead and laughed like a silly little school girl!! Man all that on and cranked and pulling like 96fps on that berlin map!!! Man, I could NOT be happier!! truly the next generation of GPU's

edit - gonna hang here at 13,419 for a while
