XP2000 won't clock past 1750 on NF7(non S)

Ahtlon XP 2000, AGOIA, Palamino. What the hell.... I can run it at 200x8.5 for 1700mhz. I have seen it go to 1750 but be unstable. I have tried nearly EVERY voltage (CPU, AGP, NB, Vcore). EVERY multiplier. All the ram timings (kept them slow to OC) My temps are 30-35C and never higher, even in the bios. What am I missing out on? I disabled APIC (or whatever that stuff is that most of you have to disable) and XP won't boot. I've fiddled with everything that I can imagine changing. I can't get it over 1700 and stable. I know this CPU can put out more....... Why won't it though?

Y'know, not every processor can really go that high... though it is a bit off for an AGOIA to only get up to what my AGKGA is managing, not all processors are made alike, and you may have just been the unlucky one... OH, and DriveEuro, I think I'm passing your post count with this post here. YAY! (j/k)

Well, I knew that they weren't all alike. I'm not dumb. But still... AGOIA stepping. A great overclocking motherboard. WHY THE HELL CAN'T I SQUEEZE OUT MORE THAN 33 mhz and be stable?

I didn't mean to insult your intelligence, and if I did, I apologize. What I meant to say is that even though you may have an AGOIA, it might be an exceptionally bad one, one perhaps with some aberations from the litho and one from the edge of the wafer where there are more errors (if I understand correctly)... maybe there is one miniscule 20 molecule error in that enormous (relativlely) slab of silicon and it's bugging something important up when you are trying to overclock... not all chips are created alike, and you really can't expect ANY overclocking overhead from any one particular chip - you can only hope that it lives up to, at least, the average overclock that others have been getting...

All it would take is a few molecules off here and there and you would get terrible stability at even mildly increased speeds, regardless of which stepping... though I can see where you are coming from, its simply an unfortunate happening, but one that is most probably unrectifiable...

The highest I have gotten so far was 203 x 8.5 and that wasn't really too stable. About half of the time I was running it 3Dmark would close. So basically I was only 50% stable.... Kinda sucked.

If your FSB is high you really can't pump the mhz, try like a higher multi and less FSB for your Mhz, however 203 FSB is nice, nforce2 or not. I'm getting an Epox 8RDA so I'll see what my AGOIA Y 2100+ can do as well.

But I have dropped the FSB.... I have dropped it around 133 x 13..... (would run stable no matter what voltage)....166 x 10.5 wasn't stable...... Nothing is stable around 1750.... I can't figure it out. I'm not dumb with this either.... It's just aggrivating.. I don't want my XP2000 to be one of those crappy overclockers....
