AIUHB 0248
9 Just popped it in me kx7-333 rev 1.0 mobo using latest b6 BIOS. Defaulted to 1500Mhz on boot up. Tried setting 12.5x133 and no POST. cleared cmos and set it to highest >=13x133 and here I sit at 1730Mhz... Voltage is at 1.60 default and my ax7 has dropped 5c from 37c to 32c. Previous chip was lovely xp1700 AGOIA "4" that ran up around 1760Mhz @ 1.75v that stayed at 37c idle... back in a bit with some scores

Nice scores... I am going to unlock my 1600+ AGOIA-9 this weekend, so I will do some serious OC-ing too.

175x13 CPU & Mem bench
175x13 3dmark & wcpuid & mbm5 Had to up vcore to 1.75 and my idle is now up to 37c but I think I can live with that 2300 was/is my goal so I'd get that at 177x13. Though I think 180 is me next jump... bbs

180X13 cpu and mem bench
180x13 3dmark wcpuid & mbm5 had to up vcore to max at 1.85 to get 3dmark to finish at 180 fsb. Also cost me a few more degrees as I'm now up to 39c idle. Not sure how much more I can get without a volt mod. Don't think she'll give up 185x13 for me.. But still, not bad at all considering the $92 price tag Think she's a keeper

Congrats shuki! Damn good showing! What cooling are you using (sorry if you already said this)? Damn nice OC... but don't forget to use that idling power to do Seti@home! Join the DH team

AIR cooling... thermalright AX7 baby
Though I think the show is over 185 fsb won't give me windows and 183fsb crashes to desktop during 3dmark. I know my rig will do 200+fsb as I've had all parts in it running it before. Now I have the r9700 who's MAX fsb is 188 so I know it's not it crashing at 183. Has to be the new xp2100b. Still, my goal was 2300Hmz out of her and I've got that Man went up from me r8500 to an r9700 ($100 after ebaying my Ti4200) and an xp1700 @ 1760Mhz to an xp2100 ($92 shipped) @ 2344. All in all, a good week

I'm going to stare dolefully at my video card and paint my hard drive coolers black - one of those ought to get me over 4000 3dmarks

Toshiro, print these two images out and tape them to the side of your case! They should add like 500MHz and improve your 3DMark score by 5000 or so.

Wait, you mean I have to print em out? I thought setting a NOS background was enough to add 1000 3dmarks

These are the CPUs that can do 2.6 easy on air... 2.9 on Promethia.

Obviously these can't do 2.6 easily on air, seeing as how shuki didn't get 2.6
However, this is the same stepping that was up to 2.9 recently with some crazy guy...

Oh, well the guy that hit 2.9 on promethia had AIUHB (or something like that stepping) and he hit 2.6 on air.

Well, some processors are damn good, others are good, and others suck - all depends on the luck of the draw...

Speaking of... I guess it aint my processor that sucks like we all thought. I have to disable APIC in windows and in the bios then I should be able to overclock it VERY well.
edit: Well, that didn't help me out for shit. I guess that I just got a bad XP2000. Bad as in it won't overclock for shit. So I'm thinking about buying one of those T-Bred 2100s..... Seriously. Fatass overclock.

It's never just as "easy" as it sounds as you're experiencing with your palamino The people that are running a 1.85vcore are hitting the wall right about where I am (2350-2400)...2.6 on air |

see my edit post 2 above this one on the big 2600 OC. And driveeuro, toshiro is right, even with same stepping (though now newegg is shipping 0103 hitting ~ 2250Mhz) it does NOT, in no way, mean you'll get same results as someone else with identical stepping. Ask anyone that has been OCing for any amount of time and they will tell you that. It really is the luck of the draw

![]() after that, I would: 1. make sure I had the latest BIOS 2. power down pc, clear CMOS, unplug power cord and press power button to discharge any remaining juice. 3. remove old cpu 4. insert new xp2100 5. reapply as3 properly 6. reconnect power cord 7. clear BIOS again just to be sure 8. Power up into BIOS and set to 133x13 9 F10 and get to windows. 10 Use mbm5 to monitor your temps and see that all is well with your new install. if so, after 5 or 10 minutes, restart to BIOS and check for other multi options. Try 12x133 or 15x124. see if it boots up or hangs at POST. |

Yeah. I had a celeron 300mhz in the first computer I built. (Cause it was cheap!) I could easilly get it up to 500mhz... with air, 1 fan on the case, it sat at 21ÂșC. So it really just depends...
I dont OC much anymore due to my last athalon 900mhz that could barely break the 1Ghz mark. Hmm, wonder what my new one can do sometimes... |

even tho most tbred 2100+ b can oc to 2.4ghz easliy that stilil impressive considering the first A cant even go pass 2.0ghz. Now you have to remember that there are no two same processors. They all have different oc ablitiy. Also i would have to say your mobo can hold your oc back. I seen many oced to 2.6 easily with a simple vcore increase without vmod.

190x12.5
well worked some magic (and an hsf mod on the r9700 GPU
) and am now up to 12.5x190. Before the hsf mod, couldn't go over 180 so squeezed out an extra 10 fsb. Not sure how it would handle it at locked 13x multi but I had already unlocked the chip now and don't feel like tearing it down to find out. So as it sits now I'm at 190x12.5 on:xp2100 b AIUHB "9" 0248 kx7-333 rev 1.0 2x256 samsung pc2700 most agressive timings (2-6-2-1T command rate) r9700 pro 325/310 15,582 3dmark CPU and Mem bench Last edited by shuki; Feb 3, 2003 at 06:20 PM. |
