Simple cheap mod, CPU temp 6C lower

So I figure I'd cut out a hole in the case and place some tubing in the hole. The whole point was to get cold air directly onto the CPU heat sink. So I measured where the CPU fan is in relation to he case side. Jigsawed a hole in the case. Put the tubing in the case side with hot melt glue. Aligned it with the CPU fan. Dropped temps by 6 degrees Celcius. What a damn simple and smart mod.

Well, I want to trim the shit off the outside to clean it up. But yeah. Simple and good.

Hey, nice, that looks pretty cool- I would do the same, but I think my case already kinda does that- take a look. I guess I could run a piece if tubing from the original hole directly to the hsf though- It would almost be like having 2 cpu fans. What kind of tubing is that? Is if flexible?

Case looks like this, I would have to make an "s" turn to line up w/ the cpu.

When I want extreme AIR, I just remove cpu side, and have the AC blow into the side, lol, crazy temps, hehehe.

Well when the temperture outside is 20-30F you can't really run the AC.

Hey Mad, that does look like it is the same case as mine- I got mine at newegg for about 40 bucks w/ PSU- pretty good deal-

The only downside to this mod is that now I can actually here the CPU fan. It's spinning at 4100 rpm. It is definetly louder than when I didn't have the tube in there. All the fan noise travels out of the tube. But eh, it's not that bad.
