best cooler...............

If your talking about "best bang for your buck" .....I've always liked the Thermaltake Volcano series.. Currently using the 7+ model running at a cool 34c idle and 36-37c load. on a Ath 2700 while set on med speed or else it starts sounding like a small turbo-prop . But since you have money to burn dont forget all the other cooling stuff you can get !!!! You may want to check out places like thisnexfan .They have all kinds of cooling supplies.

Have fun and enjoy your shopping spree

If price is no object, go with one of the coolers from Swiftech or Alpha. They are expensive, but they are the best you can get.

Well, I like...

...the Kingwin 725. For $18us it's a great deal. Simple, quiet, powerful!

I picked it up when I got me tuly 1.4 for Bubbles and it has done me NOTHING but proper!

(BTW-EVIL LINKAGE!!!! My wife is gonna freaking kill me..... )

EDITED BITS: Doh! AMD! Try this one then.

Though personally I would go for one of those nice Prometias or Vapochills because of the excessive $$$$, or some really nice watercooling, I would recommend Swiftech as far as HSF go if you don't mind a mite of noise, and then the Akasa Silver Mountain 2Q for good quiet performance (assuming you won't want to go through the trouble of getting a swiftie or an alpha and putting a silent fan on it...)

SLK 800, no doubt the best. You can find several reviews of it online.

The SLK-900 looks to be pretty nice as well but there is problems w/ compatibility with AMD motherboards. Alpha is great too.

SLK 900 only mounts on the four holes.... Cannot mount onto the Ziff clips.

It's dangerous to have very heavy heatsinks so to speak "holding on for dear life" by some thin pieces of plastic. I've read where a heavy enough heatsink with the proper jolt can rip the socket right out of the motherboard. I'm quite amazed to see some of these huge heavy heatsinks out now with just a single clip to hold it on. I think a person is just asking for trouble and it would really suck to have almost a pound of metal plonk down on your expensive video card.

SLK 900 is the new winner, hehe, SLK 800 is almost the same but it's cheaper now 2 so it'll be easier to pick up

But not all people can mount an SLK 900. Not everyone had the mounting holes next to the Zif socket.

Um, that should be enough for a little overclock. Now if you are planning on overclocking.......like what I have...500mhz overclock then you might need a better fan.... But you seem sufficient with that fan.

probubly going for a 2400+ and pushing it up to about 3000+ so I am only going about 200mhz and forceing the bus speed to 166mhz ... that setup sound suffecient?
