How to raise the rpm on a stock AMD X2 cpu fan?

I just built a new rig and noticed that the cpu fan runs lower then I would like (~2650) and the cpu temp. is ~45. i know thier is a way to make it run higher I just dont know how and figured I'd ask the experts. The motherboard is a Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe with stock bios. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Edit: I am thinking of overclocking a little bit, maybe raise it to 2.6 but want to keep it as cool as possible. I'v heard that the stock coolers can be quite load at high rpms but I dont care I just want to try overlcoking and see if it is worth it on my system. Also if anyone could point in the direction of a good overclocking guide. I understand the basics but having a reference would be nice. Also I am having trouble changing the mutlitplier in bios. I read that it is locked but I'v also read where people have managed to change it on the 4400. I've already change the FSB speed to 215 and the cpu is running at 2580 MHz. Should I go any higher?

There should be a bios option to change the fan speed by setting a target temperature for you CPU

That looks like stock fan speed...which is as high as it can go.

The only solution short of overvolting and killing the fan is getting a new HSF which will vastly improve temps and OCing anyway

Thanx for posting. I was looking at new heatsinks a few days ago and came across this: http://www.madshrimps.be/?action=get...56&articID=406
It claims that the new fans on the stock HSF can reach reach upwards of 5200 rpm. I looked through the thread today regarding the article and found some things I can try . My system is trunning fine @2.6 GHz and I won't try to go much higher until I either get some higher rpms or buy a new HSF. Ph and I looked through my bios again and the only thing I can reconize as being related to the cpu fan in the AMD CnQ wich I have diabled. I probably just dont know what means if its thier and left it alone.

You're better off to get a better HSF, higher RPM fans on a less efficient heatsink don't work very well.

You're right, I'm thinking of buying the new Zalman CNPS9500. It's about the same rpm but the heatsink is much better thanks to the unique design. I was thinking of going with watercooling eventually but I might not just because of the price. I figure if I can get some good HSF's I can do some modest overclocking, not like I need to but I want to try it out.

The Zalman is good but i'd go with the Thermaltake big typhoon or mini tpyhoon. a bit cheaper
