Games running hella choppy =/

I got a 3800+ x2 today and o\c'd it from 2000MHz to 2600MHz, it runs stable under everest stress test @53 degrees full load on both cores. I got a artic cooler freezer 64 pro on the cpu. Anyway everything seemed great till I fired up Quake 4, it loaded up really slow and once it was finally in game the audio started before the game did, then it ran really choppy once started, unplayably choppy. So I decided to check an DirectX game and fired up Day of Defeat: Sorce, and it was a little better but also ran choppy, getting proggresively worse as time went on.

my oc settings:

My HTT is.. @1040
FSB............@260
mem divider@166
mem..........@216
cpu............@2602
cpu multi....@10

rest of my specs are in my sig. Wonder if its cuz of the dual core or coz of the oc? I havent changed anything else and my 3000+ before this was running at similair settings and was completely stable in games.

I doubt any of these. You probably just have a driver issue or something. Install the chipset and GPU drivers again.

Thanks Grace. I did several things to fix my problem including installing amd's dual core optimizer, x2 drivers and hot fix. I also backed down my oc and re-installed my omega's which solved the problem. So I got her back upto 2.6GHz stable again and smooth in game. So the re-install of video drivers was the solution. Thank god, some ppl were saying that a clean win install was the solution for me and I just did that a cpl weeks ago for something unrelated and I did not want to do that again lol.

If I run into anymore problems I'll post.

Thanks again Grace ;D
