ROFL sometimes I despair.

Put 'PSU calculator' into google. Very first link takes you to this:

Dude I hope you didnt take that to heart I was just messing around

8800GTX in SLi are pretty heavy on the juice, seems that all of the manufacturers are starting to release 1000W PSU's at the moment, this has the added benefit of dropping the prices on the slightly lower PSU's.

googled a few systems for you and the powersupplies vary from 700W which i'd say is borderline upto the afore mentioned 1000W. I'd er on the side of caution and go for a quality PSU with a high wattage as your budget allows.

In that respect, the watts for the $$$ the GameXstream by ocz had "ample" amps on it and rated very high in reviews. I don't want to push my luck on the PSU. I'm going to have to do lots of research.

I was joking around, more along the lines of after 4200 posts im bound to slip up

I felt pretty idiotic not trying PSU calc. I remember a good calc back in the day (2003/4ish) when I was big into overclocking and there was a calc called power supply calc so ner I'm dumb.

Build an SLI PC - Certified Power Supplies This is the list of "SLI Certified" power supplies for the 8800GTX. I am actually leaning towards the thermaltake toughpower as it has scored high in every review I have read. I am at a loss! AHH I hate decisions and pressur and junk.

Avoid TT PSU's, I've seen alot of reports of them blowing up (but they were like 350-500W models).

The Coolermaster PSU's are supposed to be really power efficient and cool running

The current toughpower line is fine. Lumping PSUs from one brand together doesn't work, as different models are often produced by different OEMs.

One of those PSU's was a 500W Toughpower that had problems. Its not as bad for Toughpowers as it is for the lower end ones which, yes, are made by a cheaper part using OEM and can't hit rated specs.

But the Toughpower's have had a few issues by themselves, though not as many. Most of the issues I saw were related to fan failure on lower wattage models.
