In theory it's a great idea and would be even better if the processor could make use of the extra bandwidth. Hence, right here is the reason I haven't bought an extra ram stick. You tell me Shuki..is it really worth it???

IMO, the AMD dual channel memory is a joke. its very weak at best. if that is the reason for buying the next gen board don't waste your money. For me though, I needed a locked off AGP for my 9700 pro which hates anything over 180. Which to me is just way too slow....

edit - and todd, thanks!

nforce is good for its efficenty its better then kt400A without using duel
however alot of companies have started selling "hand picked" mem for duel and i think thats a joke realy
and they cost more then the normal ones of course

well, essentially AMD wanted to try and compete with intel in the dual channel mem arena. While intel has it goin' on AMD is quite lacking in the area.... IMO, dual channel AMD is a joke... Nvidia boats "100%" increase on their dual channel mobos and that is just plain and simple PR hype lies. I've got the benches to prove it. 205 slots 1 & 2 (NON DC) gives 3091/2906 sandra mem bench. 205 slots 2 & 3 (DC) only yields 3157/3002. You do the math....

shai, I was over 3000 mem on me kx7.... and if you notice above, I'm over 3k now without DC too it is NOT the dual channel that get us over 3000 mem...

definitely agree

I never understood what all the excitement was over having dual-channel on an AMD board.
Heck, even if you had memory running at dual-1000MHz, you're still limited by AMD's 333MHz (stock) FSB.
All dual-channel does, is add a tiny bit of efficiency.

The only place dual-channel actually helps is on boards with integrated video,
but hey, how many members here use that?

PS: Great job hitting 210
