Dimm 3?

Hi, I read through my NF7's manual and I realised that they recommend putting the memory from DIMM3 to DIMM1 in order... Why is this so?

Anyway, all along, my 512MB Kingston stick was in DIMM1, and running at 4-3-2-2 perfectly. When I changed it to DIMM3, my computer will lockup during games and stuff. Even when I lowered the timings to 5-3-2-2, it still happened. Is it possible that my RAM wasn't seated properly? I just took it out and put it in again... Hope everything's fine .

Crash Override is an unknown quantity at this point

it could have also been a typo in the manual

put it back in DIMM1

I've also read that dimm 3 is not the best for single stick in the nf7 regardless of what the manual says. And I'm sure everything is still fine you just need to put mem back in dimm 1

Yeah, the shortest routes from the chipset. But I don't know much about nforce chipsets...

Hm... Ok thanks! I'll put it back in DIMM1 then . It seems more stable after I took it out and put it in DIMM3 again, but I haven't actually played any games or what. I could be wrong. Haha. Never mind, I'll put it back in DIMM1! Thanks! =)

My mobo website (www.soyo.com) says that if you have 2 memory sticks you should put one in DDR socket #1, and one in DDR socket #3.
