so I hooked up 16 x 92mm fans to my radiator...

so I work in a PC store, so i've got access to quite a few things.....freely!

I decided to cable tie 16x 92mm generic branded ball bearing fans, and mount them with some sticky tape, onto my 'watercool MO_RA2 Pro' radiator.. lol

Now, I run this thing passive cooled, and i have an overclocked system. 2.6ghz AMD X2 4200+ @ 1.55v, so it does get hot..

from 42c idle (it's a warm humid day here in melbourne), it's managing to idle at 34 degrees with the fans on.

an 8 degree drop, that aint bad lol. here are the pics and a video to display noise, its only 1mb

it's a windy loud... if that makes sense, lol.
but remember, this is just experimental, it wont ever be a permanent solution to cooling my radiator. it will remain possive cooled... I simply ran this test so I can see how this radiator performce under a wind tunnel simulation lol

i will post some new results of load temps etc in the morniing, when the ambients is a lot cooler than it was today when I ran these tests.. it was kinda warm in melbourne today

well if only we all had extra stuff to steal to experiment lol

but nice little setup there i cant imagine how much "wind noise" 16 fans causes

i mean i have fine in my case and wow they make quite a bit of wind noise

but using a fan controller for me would be pointless seeing as my case being plastic doesn't displace the heat that a metal case would

infact i think this case doesnt give me any advantages except for being able to see when a fan goes out

Go to a local Car audio place, they have large DC 3 pin fans that should nock down the noice less and increase CFM considerably. I think the biggest one is over 200mm that i saw.

Actually, it's best to build a reduction that converts the airation fan to the same shape of your computer case, then using 3/4 inch bolts, a minimum of 12 of them, to fasten it to the case, then using several brackets, reinforce the motherboard/pci cards thoroughly, if at all possible, it's best to try and run the fan so that the airflow is running from the front to the back of the case to REALLY see the drop in temperature...

Now I see. I misconstrued your intent in that link, silly me. It was my belief one would use one of each model for the CPU, RAM, GFX card and chipsets individually....

Now where did that dog get to...?!?

holy smokes.... a seperate airaition unit per part.. that would be like.... my gaud, the airspeed alone woudl probably tear something apart if it were funneled down to mount onto a heatsink or whatever lol

you do know that a single airation unity, specially the large circular ones, are nearly a foot and a half to 2 feet in diameter.

Why generic fans, you need Vantec Tornados there. 16x120CFM = 1920CFM, about the average airflow of the average household furnace blower

Speaking of which one of those looks like it'd fit on an old one I have in my garage....
