Why is it Beeping!?!?!
|
I have reached the peak
so i can go no furtherthan 2.4 Ghz
any point past there is unstable so anyone else have a better clock for a 3800+ x2?

Alot of people do... just check Google.
Sure you can't give it more voltage? Or upgrade the cooling? It could be that 2.4 is all the chip had in it

And why did you start a new thread? You could have simply continued in the original "Need a little advise" one...

did you give it more core volts?

My X2 3800+ tops out at 2.5 GHz, with below stock voltage... any extra voltage doesn't help anything.
It all depends on your chip, anything over stock is a bonus.

with my 3800+ im at 3.5v @2.5
maybe i got a good one? but stock voltage is stable but the temps at load i dont really like nothing near core melt but higher than of course normal but im staying where i am right now i have the windsor core does that make a difference over the manchester? |

yeah did that now and to mysurprise i was way under
that was the same problem with my RAM ![]() now i have it where i want it ![]() in all actuality i might try for a higher clock and see if i can get 2.55 or 2.6 if not then a little extra volts never hurt anything lol Last edited by procupine14; Apr 19, 2007 at 02:58 AM. |

heres the update
i have tested the max Ghz i can manage without windows restarting and refusing to boot at all since ASUS has that wierd "crash free BIOS" it restarts when it thinks it might crash so im chalking it up to that in the issue with windows. The current situation is this: 252Mhz x10 2.52 Ghz that is the highest clock without using voltage to increase further anything more than that restarts every time. i took the clock up to 2.6 and decreased it one step until i got a stable boot and this is where that stays but as stated earlier any extra voltage doesnt seem to help out a whole lot but 2.52 isn't bad out of a 2.0 Ghz chip

thank god... or you would be frying it :P
i got mine stable at 1.47V @ 2.6Ghz. around 35-40 idle (now in the hot weather 40) and under load it just below 60..
