i need to know is it safe and wise to use a vantec toranado as a cpu cooler instead of the standard 2400rpm fan on my heatsink and do i want blowing on the heatsink or sucking air off?

also i want to overclock my video card some more and wanna know if putting in a vantec tornado as a case fan will help me achieve this?

my current stable overclock with no artifacting for testing for 3 hours is 429/250

my default clock speed is 325/166

my overclock 3dmark 03 score is 3492
my default 3dmark 03 score is 2402

i hope i am doing everything correctly and if it matters i am using ati tool..

Yes it would be better than the stock fan, you want it blowing towards the cpu.

If you're really looking into OCing, you might want to invest in an aftermarket HSF set.
I reccomend looking at the zalman HSF's or the thermalrights.

If i had a s478 cpu like yours id have one of these 2 coolers on it before i even thought about moving the FSB or voltage.

But hey, thats just my opinion others would say its ok to OC on stock HSF but not me.

surely this will lower the temps even more right?

yes it will lower temps, if you get a good one.

How high are you overclocking? whats your FSB? 400 or 533?

I have same card, and (samsung memorry) have 4400 points ! in 3Dmark 2003 and 2072 in 3Dmark05 )
Mysettings is 524/409 !
