Got my 2.4b to 3.34 ghz on my Sinxp1394 using 1.60 vcore and good temps (air cooled) 37 idle 45 load. the trick was using 1:1 ratio on the board (thanks to Prom & Big on my other forum) so i had to run my pc3500 @ 372 @ 2-8-2-2 which still gives me mem benches over 4g's on sandra 2003.

If you're getting kicked back to the desktop during games or benchin, it's probably a mem problem. Try giving the ram some more juice and/or relaxing the timings alittle.

Try this
Recently i got myself the new Gigabyte GA-8KNXP Ultra. This bad boy along with OCZ dual channel memory pc3500 and P4 2.4B (SL6RZ S-Spec) pulls 219FSB stable through 3dmark (220FSB starts giving some problems). So currently under Peliter cooling from Swiftech and 92mm 119CFM fan, this processor pulls astonishing 3942Mhz. I think it's very good overclock. I posted all the specs on Overclockers.com

ok lil update am now running @ 3.4ghz (190bus)
3dmark2001se am @ 18k and change (trying for 19,000 almost there) 3dmark2003 am @ mid 6k Radeon 9700pro is @ 405/360 stock cooling (running this speed since oct last year, no artifacts, samsung 2.8ns mem on card) bypassing the 9800 waiting for the r400 in july ![]() Fatman: thats the gigabyte canterwood board, great board. tell me are you using the 800bus 2.4 cause i dont think the 533 2.4 will go up to 220. what settings are you using. Also have you come into any issues with the board. Over @ asusboards there is a big discussion on issues with te canterwood boards (ic7, p4c800, etc) Posted a desktop updated pic. goal is 200 for me however for now i am content with a 1000mhz overclock so i wont be too greedy. maxwell: well i have my vcore @ 1.60, FSB is 190 with the 1:1 cpu.mem ratio, mem running @ 2-8-2-2 (which on a intel board is equilvent to 2-2-2-5-1) dram volt is +2, mem speed is 380ddr (memwill go as high as 490 on my board but in order to achieve the high fsb speeds i have to use the 1:1 ratio and not the 1:3 (ddr400). Temps are @ 35c idle, 45 Load, 49 running Prime95 Unfortunatly the p4s8x is not as good an overclocker as the sinxp, but it is still possible cause i had a p4s8x which was given to me from a friend in germany which ran 166fsb for me, it was a 4 yellow cap board, might of been modded but i didnt see any visual signs. so i had a good p4s8x, but i know alot of people were dissapointed with the p4s8x, shame cause it was a good board to me whne i had it http://www.asusboards.com/forums/att...?postid=412703
