AM2 5000+ Brisbane "Black Edition"

I just got one of these together for the warden. I put in an abit KN9 SLI, 2 X 1 gig GSKill PC6400 (the cheapies at 5-5-5-15)(work great), I used a new PC Power & Cooling 470 W PSU in an Antec 900 case. I was intending to use my ASUS X1800XT 512 card, but try as I might I could not get it to fit properly so i used a HIS X1650 XT instead, no problems.

This CPU does not come with a stock cooler. I have had good luck in the past with Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro's and they were on sale. While they might not be as good as a Sythe Ninja, they are still good and economical.

I just installed Windows and some other Crap and the Warden was getting antsy for her new machine. I went in the BIOS and change the multiplier to 12 and Bop! Biff! Bam! it was at 3.0! I was not allowed to play further.

I was impressed, ordered a 6400+ Black Edition from Tiger Direct for 169 they have the 5000 for $99

Okay mine is 3.2 now too, 33 to 34 at an idle, downloading #D 2003 and 2006 now so I can get a better handle on how it is doing, but so far I am pleased with this 5000 Blackie

Cool too that AMD is releasing these chips with no multiplier lock If they did that on the lower spec chips they might be on to something. But that isn't likely.

Still better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick I suppose
