C1E & EIST with Q6600
2 simple questions please...
What happens to overvolting the Q6600 if both C1E & EIST are both enabled in BIOS? Do they conflict with each other and does everything remain stable with an overclock? I think it's probably ok but just wanted to check. Thanks

dont know much, but i believe that EIST will not function properly, wont throttle down properly
C1E seems to work properly when volts are at stock get ur system up yet?

Maybe I'll just try enabled and then disabled and see if theres any difference and how it works out. Funny, the C1E is there but the EIST isn't in the BIOS but it should be according to the manual...Maybe there's some BIOS revisions available on the net. I'm gonna try to first find the max speed and timings for the DDR2, see what the max is at T1 and then T2. Benchmark them for the quickest. Yup
![]() The EVGA GT model I wanted didn't arrive at the etailer but the overclocked version did so I asked them to send me that instead and got it Friday evening. Some Audio probs at first (old sound card not Vista compatible) but now I'm using onboard everything is cool and running fine. I'll get the Auzentech in the new year. I'm just in the process of transferring saved games from my old rig. Want to buy Crysis, Gears of War and The Witcher tomorrow.

They're supposed to complement eachother.
EIST will clock the processor lower by lowering the multiplier when the demand is low. C1E sleep state will just halt the processor at any speed when no instructions are being processed. |
