and shai, what kind of hsf is tek using for his cooling?? you are giving out very bad advice here and then jumping on the defensive about it. I'm asking you to just drop it now and let tek decide what he wants to do.

Right!! Let me know what these sites are so I know which ones to stay away from. This may be of some information to Tek if he plans on upgrading his cooling.

http://www.overclockers.com/articles373/

http://www.pcabusers.com/reviews/hhc001/p3.html

http://www.modthebox.com/review20_3.html

http://www.3dvelocity.com/reviews/co...r/hhc001_3.htm

http://www.tomshardware.com/cpu/20020916/cooler-15.html

Come to think of it.......after doing a search on Google, I couldn't find a bad review on it, except for the noise of the fan. Hmmm...

Any way, Tek, go for a basic overclock that wont damage your equipment. Just send me a message and I will walk you through it step by step, little by little, and you wont have to worry about frying anything. You said in the beginning that you were basically looking for an overclock just so you could say that you have an overclocked system, of say, an XP2200+. I will help you get that safely or help you find out why your system isn't letting you do it. I have built 4 systems with the A7N8X Deluxe so far this year, and have 3 more to get finished, 1 with the 2100+, 1 with the 1700+, 1 with the 2500+ and 1 with the 2600+ "mine", and the 3 to go with Barton cpu's. And I build them for the fun of it and just to help people out that don't have a lot of money. I am also on yahoo and msn, if you PM me I will give you the information.

Shai... I dunno why everybody gettin all pissy, plz no flaming cuz of me.. it make me cry

Excellent, glad that you were able to get help... Now about your signature... It is WAY too long. You can have a maximum of 10 lines of text. Or two lines of text, and a signature image of 350X100 pixels. Please take care of this as soon as you can.

BTW I added you to my MSNM.

I made a quick sig image for you... with your system specs rotating through... save a lot of space in your sig.

Is this OK for my sig ?
If you wonder why my MHz is lower its because something fucked up and 140 and 139 FSB is not stable, I played CS for 7 min, and comp restarted

hey shai... i dont know if you have ever noticed... but stock hsf's SUCK!!! 1.85 volts is a bit high for a hsf where they make it to barely work... also good job tek... it took 5 pages but you finally did it. I missed a lot since i stopped posting... but as i have said you should do what i did... sell your cpu and buy a 2100+ TBRED-B OR you could also get a 1700+... TBRED-b of course... also what is your hsf?

Fan on CPU: ThermalTake7 (I think) It's huuuuuge tho, and at times its powerful as a muthafucka. And I have a nother 4 or 5 fans throughout the
system.

EDIT: Set FSB to 138 and VCORE to 1.800 and now CS dont freeze no more :o
I guess if MHZ is over 1800 then vcore has to be something around it (1.800) and my MHZ is 1804.08.

whoa... size doesnt always matter (lol)... just because its huge doesnt mean its great. you SERIOUSLY need to get a new hsf if you are going to be overclocking...

A volcano 7 is a rather chunk aluminum HSF with copper core. Time to start looking for something that is solid copper, and very THIN fin. Look at the SLK-800, and you will know what I mean.

I thought a ccmbined copper/aluminum heatsink was good, because copper absorbs heat better, and aluminum releases it better
