your 2.2GHz processor appears to be operating at about HALF of its speed rating... What is up with that.

Crash Override is an unknown quantity at this point

since its a laptop its a P4 Mobile which means the CPU only runs at its fully rated speed when its being used

in a 2D environment it only runs at half speed usually since the extra speed is not needed

once its engaged though it goes back up

unfortunately 3DMark 2k1 doesnt allow P4 mobile benchmarks to be uploaded since the frequency its detected at on the programs startup is not the frequency it is at during the actual run so it comes up with an error saying the CPU varied speeds therefore scores will not be uploaded

but is the score ok do you think?

EEK! Holy Spit!

To put it in comparison, Bubbles was getting about a 7250 when I was running the GF3 (240/530)!

NICE little laptop ya got their CK, I'm green with envy. It sounds like they've finally got some laptops you can game on, I simply must get meself one! (Yeah, right....someday. )

EDITED BITS: I forgot to ask, how do games LOOK playing em on the LCD on it? Any ghosting or weirdness?

Battery life?

I'm not trying to nitpick, I'm jealous as hell and just want to know all the details. How long can you sit and game off of just battery power?

Probably for quite a while... CPU would throttle down when running on battery power, as would the Radeon ... That is if memory serves ...

CPU throttles down unless its being used which games do and the radeon actually doesnt have the powerplay support installed for it so it always stays at the 300/240 setting

gaming time is about 2 hours or so on it and in windows battery life is longer since the CPU is clocked down in the 2D environments until called on it stays at about 4-5 hours.

not bad considering how much this thing is up over stock right now

but almost everywhere i go theres a place for me to plug it in

for instance the college has AC adapters in the columns near the tables in the lunch room so you can sit at a table and i can plug her on in

same with my fiances brothers computer shop i can just hook it into the lan and power down there for gaming

so most of the time its just a desktop replacement

matter of fact for home usage I might just get another monitor keyboard and mouse and have this thing sitting closed to act just as a DR since it is quieter by far

one other thing im also thinking about is figuring out how to disable the throttling down of the CPU while in windows so I can submit my scores in 3DMark and actually make sure the CPU is indeed running at the full 2.2 while running it
