Memory Voltage.
2.9 V too high for Crucial 512 MB? I've got heat spreaders on it. I'm guessing it's not too high at all, but the question is: Does increasing DDR Voltage yield stability with higher MHz?

More voltage usually gives you better MHZ and timings. Although some RAM just won't go faster with any more voltage. Some sticks are picky and just won't go beyond a certain point (mhz and/or timings)

but higher volts also = shorter life span if cooling is not above par. Though I think crucial has a lifetime warranty so no worries either way

Usually you can add about 10% voltages to your ram, and to your CPU without much worry.. Like Shuki said... WITH PROPER COOLING! that means if your CPU is meant to run at 1.5 volts .. move the desimal, and add... 1.65 volts should be fine.

Keep in mind that higher voltages are ALWAYS more dangerous than lower ones, even with the best cooling in the world, because electromigration will increase as voltage does, and this will shorten the lifespan of your chips regardless of the cooling. Also, 10% voltage tolerances are industry standard, as I recall, so adding ~10% _shouldn't_ do any harm, but as always with any overclocking, you run the risk of something going wrong.

AH... but the end result... LOL ... Like getting a 1600+ Palomino over 1.9GHz ... That is beautiful.

Do you ppl abide by your rules?
Do you ppl follow your own and advice and only up it 10%? I do have Northwood Core, and I've heard the sudden death syndromes. I'm upping it to 1.75 V MAX. That is if I need it that high.
