Luck out or fantasy

Tell me if what I'm seeing is right pls. The other day I decided to try oc'ing my 2500+ barton, I simply moved the multiplier from 11.0 to 12.0 and rebooted and when the bios screen came up it said Athlon xp @ 2000mhz. The chip normally runs at 1830mhz, and the boot up screen says Athlon XP 2500+ on boot. Did I luck into an unlocked chip or am I seeing things, just needed another opinion Thx.

Donator
Drop the multiplier down to 10x and bring the FSB to 200. You might want to raise the vcore to 1.65 or so. Raise the vram high, it can take it and needs it, bring it to like 3.1. I'm not exactly sure if you have cheap ram though, because cheap ram can't take it.

Setting the memory voltage to 3.1 is probably not a good idea, depending on the type of RAM. 2.8 is usually a good max for most memory out there.

What kind of motherboard do you have?
If it is an nForce2, then your mobo did it for you
Motherboards with nForce2 chipset automatically unlock all AthlonXP's based on a Thoroughbred-B or Barton core.
