Liquid cooling system issue
So I've had my liquid cooling system for quite awhile now and I'm thinking its time for an upgrade for some of the components. I'm looking for some suggestions since its been awhile for some solid, budget components.
Basically, for some reason, my system just isn't keeping my new phenom cool enough so its time to upgrade. I'll get the specs of my current setup on here when I get home today

Re: Liquid cooling system issue
That combo should be fine for your Phenom, have you ensured your blocks is *really* tightly screwed on the chip? More pressure the better, might be worth re-mounitng
I use EK water-blocks on the systems I build myself and XSPC Delta 3's here at work, they're both fantastic blocks and more efficient than the Koolance blocks afaik. Mike |

Re: Liquid cooling system issue
hmmm ok it might be worth remounting. I'm just not sure what's going on. I figured that this system was ample to do the job but it seems like the thing just builds up heat. Thanks I'll remount and check back.

Re: Liquid cooling system issue
Danger Den DD-CPX1 12V 3-Pin Powered Pump - (DD-CPX1) - FrozenCPU.com
this is the danger den pump http://www.frozencpu.com/products/20...vc5r&mv_pc=448 and this is the block Thermaltake AquaBay M3 5.25" Reservoir (CL-W0031) - FrozenCPU.com and this is the reservior Newegg.com - KOOLANCE HX-362 Radiator (no nozzles) - Water Cooling and the radiator all of this is running 3/8" dia tubing I'm using a mix of about 50/50 fluid XP and distilled water also, another thing that came to my mind is that my motherboard senors could be having issues and not functioning properly. I may have to get a temp sensor and directiy hook it up to the underside of the cpu block I'm using Speed fan and PC Probe to measure temps at the moment

Re: Liquid cooling system issue
Your radiator and CPU block are definitely the weakest parts. The radiator is aluminum and I will never ever suggest someone use a koolance radiator unless using an entire koolance loop.
Any idea how much you would like to spend on an upgrade? |

Re: Liquid cooling system issue
yeah I'm thinking this radiator is pretty much shot. I was hoping to keep it under $100 if its possible I'm not trying to go nuts quite yet.
I was thinking about a dual 120 rad thats fairly thin. This single 120 is so thick its ridiculous.I say dual because I want to eventually integrate the NB and GFX but that will come when I have a little more money

Re: Liquid cooling system issue
Swiftech MCR220 and a DTEK Fuzion for around $100 I would think. You could always upgrade the radiator now and the CPU block down the road.

Re: Liquid cooling system issue
A move to a dual-rad would certainly be one of the best things you can do, a double rad would give enough leeway to cool chip and a single graphics, probably with northbridge too I would think.

Re: Liquid cooling system issue
well right now the system is still running a little hot but its getting better. I'm thinking as soon as I change out the block the temperatures will be ideal right now I'm looking at high 30's low 40's which isn't really a "happy place" for where I want this processor to jump off from when Overclocking so I will wait until I get my new block to OC

Re: Liquid cooling system issue
Depends on what your ambient temps are as well mind, if your load temps are only 5*C or so higher then you've got the room
