OCZ "Northbridge" cooler
OK my mind works in mysterious ways and since I had the Intel machine down for an article I thought WTF. Threw in 2G more of the OCZ Gold DDR3-1333 and another OCZ ram cooler ... 67 bucks taxes in.
One bolt on one end and the "northbridge" cooler locks under the existing cooler on the other end ![]() This is a work in progress as you can see my E6550 is nakid

Re: OCZ "Northbridge" cooler
Both likely unnecessary, but as always if it looks cool then why not.

Re: OCZ "Northbridge" cooler
Well with the Domino ALC more airflow is needed for the ram and chipset.
The NB idea I came up with because the BIOS on the ASUS board told me I needed aftermarket cooling to set the NB voltage higher than 1.75V ... so I did

Re: OCZ "Northbridge" cooler
Well an update I did end up making a bracket but all good. The OCZ cooler fits under the liquid cooler hoses much better than 120mm fans would have as I thought

1.75V, yeah you might need them.
And there are lights in there too.

Re: OCZ "Northbridge" cooler
Thanks man and working well so far might invert the NB cooler though so its blowing towards the chipset. My mobo ambient temps have decreased an bit since adding this cooler .... I wish there was a sensor on the NB.
This board runs hotter than my Gigabyte which is the reason I added this in the first place.
