Thanks Bro but you may have me confused with longhorn on this thread I replied to it
![]() http://www.hardwareheaven.com/overcloc...-amd-rock.html This is a sealed unit and I am going to have to re plumb it to do what I need to do.

No, I don't have you confused, I have been looking into getting one for my recent acquisition of a phenom 955. I got one based on the review, went out and bought it with a MSI 790FX-GD70, and now I want to get your cooler, and it was nice to see it in its glory, I am very squeemish about getting one because I don't know how easy it is to install, so I was congratulating your boldness

Re: Domino A.L.C. Nakid !!
What are you doing with the the thing Mac? (did i miss that sumwhere?) adding the northbridge into the loop? or is it just an appearance mod to be able to tuck the rad away?
mainly im curious about the mounting of the rad and the 120 fan the "default" way, in the back fan spot. What holds the rad to the cpu case? only the rubbers i see there? maybe the rad is not as heavy as i think? How do you feel about it? are the rubbers adaquet? |

Overall it is easy to install just make sure you have a wide enough case and thanks ![]() Quote:
On what I am doing with this including it here as well: - painting the interior of the Tempest case black - putting longer clear plastic hoses on the Domino - mounting the Domino fan in the rear fan location of the Tempest case - mounting the Domino rad and pump to the top of the Tempest under the 2 x 140mm exhaust fans - contacting CoolIT for some of the coolant they used (light blue) or just colouring spring water light purple - cutting the Domino controller into the Plexiglas side window of the Tempest (That's what the disconnects were for)

Do you think an antec nine hundred is wide enough? I'll have to remove the exhaust fan of course...

![]() Rule of thumb here just took a measurement. If you measure from the top left rear fan screw location(looking at the rear of the case) to the side panel, I would say a minimum of 4 3/4 inches to make it fit properly. And take into account side cover fans as well.

Re: Domino A.L.C. Nakid !!
OK an update on this for those interested
![]() The case is stripped and ready for paint including a pic. I have decided to order a few products from Swiftech as far as the reservoir and GPU cooling block. NCIX.com - Buy Swiftech MCRES-MICRO REV2 Clear HI-FLOW Water Cooling Reservoir 3/8IN & 1/2IN Barb Fittings - MCRES-Micro Rev2 In Canada. NCIX.com - Buy Swiftech MCW60-R2 GPU Water Block for Most NVIDIA & ATI Video Cards 1/2 & 3/8 & 1/4 Barb Fittings - MCW60-R2 In Canada. I may decide to go with 2 x HD4870 in Crossfire but need the other card and a stronger PSU first ![]() NZXT Tempest Nakid !

Re: Domino A.L.C. Nakid !!
So you plan on using the single 120mm radiator for the CPU + GPU?

Re: Domino A.L.C. Nakid !!
How easy was it to remove the fan and what sort of fitting was on the fan cable? Would it be possible to swap it out for another 120mm fan (I have a spare noctua here) or even better could I use my HAF's 140mm exhaust fan?
The Domino is finally available here in the uk but i'm waiting till payday as i'll hopefully be getting rid of this B3 Q6600 and replacing it with a better spec Core2 Wolfdale. |

Re: Domino A.L.C. Nakid !!
Sorry bud may be the way I typed it being 3am here but I was referring to the fan on the Domino, is it hardwired into the Domino's LCD module or is it just plugged in? Will the unit still operate without a fan connected/ controlled directly from the cpu socket? I'd have imagined you'd get alarm bells ringing as it sensed no fan was connected.
You'll have to excuse me if i'm not making sense, my eyelids are growing heavier by the second.

Re: Domino A.L.C. Nakid !!
I think you are going to run in to some serious problems. That it too much heat for a single 120mm radiator unless you plan on using like a 150CFM fan.

![]() The fan is plugged in with 3 wires and I was originally going to move that fan to the rear chassis fan position but I don't think I have too. The only time I have had an alarm is with the sensor plug removed and not the fan. S P F S-Sensor P-Pump F-Fan

Re: Domino A.L.C. Nakid !!
Excellent stuff, that is exactly what I was looking for. I might try installing the stock fan on the rear of the radiator and the cases 140mm on the front in a super-duper-mega-push-pull configuration.

Re: Domino A.L.C. Nakid !!

I still don't think it will be able to handle the extra heatload. The TDP of a HD70 is ~ 160W. The TDP of the E6550 is ~65W. So a total of 225W. And there is no way a single 120mm radiator will be able to handle that heatload w/ 2 55CFM fans. 2 55CFM fans does not mean 110CFM, it will still be 55CFM w/ more pressure, which isn't going to help in your situation. And the fact that the domino uses small tubing / pump is really going to add another bottleneck. With 1/2in ID tubing the 120mm radiator is going to at max be able to dissipate 175W w/ high CFM fans. With 3/8in ID tubing that drops to ~ 125W. With 1/4in ID tubing (which i think the domino uses) you are looking at 100W. I am pretty confident that your temps will be higher if you left the HD4870 on air cooling and only cooled the CPU with the domino. I highly suggest grabbing a 2 x 120mm radiator. Hell if you need one for cheap, I'll sell you my old one for $20 CAD + shipping (even includes decent fans). |

On the power consumption for the HD4870 keep in mind I am cooling the GPU only there are ram sink kits for the memory and regulators. The bigger rad might be a better idea for the video cards anyway ... I will send you a PM on the rad thanks ![]() Cool that should work and if you need to extend the fan wires it isn't a big deal. On the rad location and the reason I am dumping the original hoses is because they are very rigid and length is limited. For those playing around with this cooler keep in mind the barbs on the FHE are metal but the ones on the rad and pump are plastic .. Be Careful !!
