Arctic Cooling Accelero Xtreme GTX 280

Hey!

Anyone have one of these coolers? I ordered mine and it should be arriving today. Read some reviews on it and seems to be fairly decent.
I need it as running SLI my top gpu is running a little hotter than I would like, and to compensate I end up cranking the fan up on my gtx 260 and i absolutely hate fan noise!

Arctic Cooling

I should hopefully have enough time tonight to assemble it. And if the overclocking results are desirable I may end up grabbing another one for the other 260, much depends on what overclock can be reached and whether my other 260 has acceptable noise + temps at that same speed.

They work great I sent the 8800 version to my buddy in Croatia as he can't buy Arctic Cooling product there and he is very happy with it. He is running it on an 8800GTX he has volt modded and needed the extra cooling.

Re: Arctic Cooling Accelero Xtreme GTX 280

tried assembling it earlier on and failed, due to the final 2 screws to remove the front of the stock cooler was very small and simply too tight and i couldn't unscrew it despite having a correct sized screw driver although not perfect in depth >.< I may seek out some shops to see if they can unscrew them for me coz i simply cannot do it as much as i tried, i fear if i try any further the + sign will get corroded.

The other gtx 260 i possess, i realised after i took it apart it isn't the original gtx 260 reference design!! I can hardly believe it. The memory and some of the capacitors are in very different places to the reference 260/280 making the heatsink and other cooling modules not fit on at all.

just my luck >.<
Not a complete waste of time, replaced the thermal paste with artic silver at least...

Some things don't always work out as planned. I have all small sets of those screwdrivers wish I lived closer Bro
