Cheap Cooling advice

Damned heatsink. Well, due to my misadventures my Volcano 9 has revealed that the copper base is only copper plated opposed to a copper disk. This is kind of a letdown, as it tells me I should not bother too sand away the marks made by my old processor. (the processor was undamaged it just scratched right into the heatsink.) Heatsinks are pretty cheap as far as parts go... but frankly I just bought this one.

Seems as though my PC sits at 10 degrees warmer. Take in summer temps at about 3(I'm in the basement so it gets warmer but not too much). I'm just wondering if its even woth it. Should I look for another heatsink... one with bolt connectors perhaps? Or perhpas even try my hand at water cooling being their getting cheap to buy retail.

well you can pick up a top of the line slk-800u copper cooler and then a 60/70/80/or 92 mm fan .. you'll be happy ... run you about $38 for the heatsink and 5 - 10 for the fan ... best air cooling you xcan get...

then the acessories are extra 50/100 mabe

great for max overclocking

paromeathia is the best cooling but $$$ will kill ya

Not too terrible. $20 to $60 US for a waterblock plus a pump, which I have plenty of water pumps laying around, building a cooling chamber wouldent be to hard to make... Though that would require time/effort.

The question is would it be worth it? Meh knowing my luck it would spring a leak. So nm.

you could allways blow throgh a straw.thats cheap dod't know how long you'd last though!
