Re: Help with Overclocking AMD For Newbie
Here is my #1 tip
Read up on overclocking - I spent 2-3 weeks just reading before I overclocked anything. If you are not familiar with computers then 1 - 2 months would be more appropriate. MSI HQ User to User Forum - Index Overclocking Guide AMD64 nVidia boards Can Some one teach me how to Overclock my cpu ? Overclocking Tips For X2 4400 & Neo4 Platinum?? There is no quick way to do it beside studying and trial and error afterwords. If you are unable to put the time into learning how then I would suggest leaving it stock. |

Re: Help with Overclocking AMD For Newbie
yeah the only way really is to just read about it, and then trying. You might fail a couple of times, not frying the CPU, but maybe some BSOD or restarts. but just keep on trying

Re: Help with Overclocking AMD For Newbie
Really, as long as you keep temperatures in check and don't mess with the voltage until you really know what you are doing, there isn't a whole lot of ways left to fry your machine. Also, be prepared to restart your PC a gazillion times and then some to get everything just right.
The literature of the internet is your friend. I will help on specifics but it is hard for me to find a good place to start my explaination.

Ah, the good ole S939 DFI, happy memorys. Beware of pushing the HT too far though, some were stable some were not. Agree with SFOSOK, it is so very important to read and re read and get comfitable with using the BIOS. Spend as many hours testing as needed. Airflow and cooling go hand in hand too.
