2500K won't boot past 4.2ghz...is that odd?

I couldn't get past 4.2ghz on my old board so I upgraded to the UD7 but it's the same thing I except I can't even boot if I set to anything past 4.2ghz. I tried 100BLK and 1.4Vcore with LLC to 1 and still can't even get it to post. After I save and exit the bios it just shows stock settings until I lower it to 4.2 then it will stock. My temps are under 55C load at 4.2 in Prime95 with auto voltages which are pretty high so I feel like I've got plenty of headroom to push it further...is this just a dud chip?

increase the TDP and current limit above 300 also use LLC level 3 your probably drooping too low. A small voltage droop may not seem like much to other chips before SB, but SB is VERY responsive to voltage.
