is my 9500pro bios unlocked?

I have installed omega lastest drivers (non hacked) over the official 3.6.
I tried to overclock in little steps but my sys crashes without artifacs or anything, it crashes suddenly forcing xp to disable the video card. For example in battlefield i can play normaly with the overclocked settings but it takes just a few seconds after i exit the game for the system to hang up ...weird.

Dont know if i must install the hacked version because i didnt flash the bios to allow o/c.
I´ll apreciate any reply, thanks.

my rig: 9500 pro, a7n8x deluxe and 2500xp processor.

Your bois is not unlocked. Thats why your system is crashing when you try to over clock. You need to run Omegas setup again and choose the hack driver. Not only will you get to overclock your card, you will also get Smoothvision 2.1

not exactly, this happens to me too, but the crash has nothin to do with o/c cause if I dont let the crash to happen, i notice the o/c is back to stock rates, also if I dont o/c the crash will still happen, and yeah Im using the Hacked ones

have to flash unlocked bios...then you can oc...without crashing.

This is not true at all. You should think twice about what you say or the advice you give before you type. I can overclock the shit out of my card. I have never flashed the bois. The bois is locked because I checked. I decided to use the softmod (aka hacked drivers) over flashing the card. It is a Built by ATI Radeon 9500pro.

Flash your card if you want. It's your card. If you want to know how to do it go here:

Know this though:
1.) You wil void your warrenty
2.) Read the above thread very carefully. There are many different bois files you can flash with and you better make sure you get the right one for your card and memory type or your screwed.

I don't understand why you just don't use the damn softmod. You get the same results without the risk of damaging your card and pissing away your warrenty.

Garrita: if you diddn't install the Omega hacked drivers OR you haven't flashed your bois then you should expect to have problems when you try to overclock your card. There are very few 9500pro cards that where sold with an unlocked bois and I think most of them where made by Saffire.

Thanks a lot for the advice but i have already instaled the hacked version and they crash some of my games (gta vice city and fifa 2003).

well, im not garrita, but one thing is that you cant o/c by not using the Hacked or flashed bios, but another completely different thing is that it crash ur pc

as this happens to me too, and Im sure I can o/c with my card there most be somethen else

anyway I did back to omega 3.5, until somethen get solved, u should try the same Garrita

Now i am overclocking 310 320 very stable.. thanks a lot to everybody, specially to the Shadow Lady!

Hi Garrita, I am new to the forum, can you clarify if when you installed the 3.5 omega drivers, did you select hacked or normal? I was just about to install 3.6, (using omega for the first time), and would appreciate your info. Only bought my 9500pro yesterday.

u can try omega 3.6 hacked, I hope u have no problem there ^^ , if any problems go to omega 3.5 hacked, either way will work flawessly
