For those of you who haven't noticed the front page news, DH just went over to a dedicated, high bandwitch server.

Notice all the new ads to cover the cost?

Nope.

Zardon has really created a great place and now carries a pretty significant financial burden but is still refusing ads. I urge you to make some paypal donations if you can; even a dollar will lighten the load and help keep DH ad free. Please pass the word too.

Look at it this way......we have over 3000 members

even if only one out of 30 makes a 1 dollar donation that covers a full month of hosting......hopefully one of you will be that one out of 30

I fear for the future. I don't mean to be a naysayer, but I guess I've just got a pessimist's attitude.

Here is the thing. I love DriverHeaven. This is the first forum I've felt at home in since '97. No joke. As such, I have every intention of donating as soon as I've got a PayPal account set up.

But this fox wonders how long a donation system like that can last. Zardon seems to be adamantly against ads, and I understand why, but they seem like a necessary evil to me. Like I said, though, I will continue to support --both through encouragement and monetarily-- the noble efforts of this site.

But I'd rather see it with a banner than not see it at all.

Somebody, please calm the paranoid fears of this poor vulpine!

One of the many reasons that I love this forum, just like many others! So I've just pitched in and donated some of my hard earn money to keep this forum ads-free
