New 9800PRO cooler that I'm working on now!
http://www.vantecusa.com/p_cck_7025.html
It is a solid copper P4 cooler. Going to have some special support links to hold my card up of course. It should be quite a monster at cooling it.

Not taking the shim off, no way. They fixed the shim problem in the 9800. I'm also not risking smashing the core. :P

Yeah! This way I could just put the stock one back on and wallah. I didn't even touch it.
Especialy sinse the ATI 9800PRO stock cooler uses some thermal goop that looks like AS.

wallah = voila
Secondly, you better put like a "stilt-like" thing under that heatsink to hold it up. Cuz with my 9500np and an AMD heatsink on it it bends the card a fair amount and this is a small heatsink

I ment to say, 'wallah'. I don't like 'voila'.
Yeah, I may indeed do that. I was actualy holding it in comparison with a Zalman Heatpipe and it didn't seem all that much more heavy.

Maybe it was my Hercules that had the fixed shim.... I keep forgetting about that. I usualy add a good about of AS3 though.

My 9800P didn't have the shim problem, could use any flat heatsink. Check to see if it clears the shim before pulling it off and voiding you warranty
Also good luck with this you nut; that thing is huge!! Let us know how it goes.
