Default Post NVIDIA TNT2 M64 32MB Video Card

Ok i have a NVIDIA TNT2 M64 32MB Video Card and i was wondering what the best drivers out for it were that are for XP? Also does anyone know of any overclcking software for it or how to overclock it? Also if i were to pump up my FSB to make my CPU faster (not by much) would that allow my AGP port to cmounicate what the mobo/system faster?

Ditch that card, dude. ^_^

Anyway, the Detonators will work fine, as I imagine the Omegas would -- although I know little abou them.

You can enable NVDA's own overclocking tool by nabbin' CoolBits.reg. This is available at Guru3D.com. Double-click on it, add it to your registry, and a new tab should appear under Advanced Display Properties.

Upping the FSB won't help the card, no, and it may even push the AGP bus more out of specification than that particular card can handle.

This one suggests speeds up to 160MHz (core with heatsink/fan), and somewhat variable for RAM - 163-185MHz depending on what's used.

This one sugggests 140 (core) / 183 RAM
http://www.xbitlabs.com/video/creative-m64.html

The default is 125 core / 150 RAM, but in some cases, slower RAM may be used - though with 7nS RAM (theoretically 143MHz) doing ok at 150, 160 or maybe higher, be very happy if you have something better than 7nS on the board!

** or 100 / 110 core/ram according to this
http://www.thetechzone.com/reviews/v...per2/page4.htm
With 160/145 achievable - the worst RAM score so far!

Or no overclock success at all, and another set of speeds
http://www.sysopt.com/userreviews/vi...800_Magic.html

There is no such thing as a safe, certain overclock - just make sure you attend to heatsinking, and take it up in reasonable steps with a harsh reliability check - watch for general flakiness, crashes and visual artifacts - generally, artifacts are reckoned to show that the RAM is being pushed too far, while crashesan unreliability are more symptomatic of the core feeling the strain.

I have to disagree... overclocking the AGP bus does help. Although it is a rather unique situation when it does. Overclocking your AGP bus does help to speed transfer between Vid and Mobo. Only a card like the GF4-4600 would really have the ability to stress the AGP bus enough to see a difference. :/
