Anyone ventured into KT600 overclocking, surely not all of you have nForce2 boards...
Just seeing what you can get out of these things.

no, but considering it.
I'm thinking of the Epox 8KRA2+ (KT600)
My other choice would be the Gigabyte 7N400-Pro2 (nForce2 400 Ultra)

I need the extra Harddrive connectors these give me but the 7N400 uses the nForce-IDE which is slow (maybe not a problem as I'll just dump CDRW & DVD-ROMs on there. I have no idea who makes the GigaRAID controller so don't know how good it is, also the SATA is sat on the PCI bus as well.
KT600 doesn't have that SATA problem so should be a benefit (when 2 or more drives are running)
Onboard sound doesn't matter to me fti.

Of course I also want to overclock these as well :-)
Bang for the buck (or ££ as it is) probably the good old 2500+
Well the nForce2 is also £15/£20 more and I have to justy that to my other half (she's paying )

KT600 doesn't have locked AGP/PCI (which may not be a problem as I'm happily running overspec. at the moment) BUT I assume it'll limit how far it can go. Maybe 215/220MHz FSB ?

Hoping someone has some real world experience

Well, the KT600 is definitely a good chipset although slower that the NF2 based boards. I also haven't really seen any go over 210-215fsb and I'm not sure if they even unlock the cpu. Don't get me wrong, I like VIA and I'm running a KT800 board myself, but for the XP the NF2 is the best IMHO(especially if you want to OC). You should really read a few reviews about them before purchasing, but do not base you opinion on one big site review, jump around to a few different sites and see what each has to say.

Yes Ive got one of these boards and it works a treat for overclocking.
I tested it with a xp2500 barton and was able to get it running as a xp3000 stable, xp3200 worked and booted but I needed a nother heatsink to push it any further.
Nice board although it was a tricky blighter to set up ended having to reformat my machine and start from scratch.

kakarot, I've read quite a few reviews but most don't seem to cover the KT600 overclocking potential
I also prefer real world experiences compared to Review sites (which are good for guidence only imho). Real world are not 'sent sample boards' and are good old (and young ) normal people setting these things up without the 3200+'s ATI 9800XT's and massive heatsinks all done outside of a case

Judas, what results did you get with the overclcoking ?

well, i was able to put a barton 2500+ in and punch the fsb to 200fbs right off the hop....... 3200+..... the voltage are adjustable.... and the multiplyer/fsb go higher.... i think 240 was as high as the fsb would go.... but, of course i didn't push it... i just gave the sucker a try.... seemed pretty solid....

Cheeky bugger U, Im no review site, just a bog standard trainspotter mate!

I have mine in a v770 case sealed up I hasten to add! Coolmaster Jet 7 heatsink and blower and as I say was able to get a 2500barton upto 3200 without probs... So put that in your pipe and smoke it!!
