Finish VERY much later - see you tomorrow!

The B core is the one to have - the A core is just not exciting for overclocking, but the B core (5th letter of stepping code) is a return to the glory days of overclocking - even if they are now hard-locked, 166x12 should be about the least it will do (and quite likely on stock volts!)

A good example, overvolted and well heatsinked, may even hit 200x12 (2400MHz) - there are reports of 2500MHz with maximum overvoltage.

Not sure I'd combine pushing it hard, with re-enabling the cache - a single join for 256, and there's a break that can be done for 128 - if you fancy the chances of 128 being good if 256 isn't.

They did the green! - I forget what page it was though.

The cache link can apparently be "cheated" by scraping the edges until you see a metallic glint, and then painting - apparently it's a gronding link anyway, so filler is not needed (though the quick and dirty method is hard to reverse if the cache is not good)

Regardless, it looks like the 1600 will take 166FSB (2000) at stock or a little extra volts, and possibly even 200FSB (2400) with a worrying voltage level and good cooling - in some, enabling the cache demanded a voltage boost even with no overclocking.
