As you can see below i have an MSI GF3 Ti 500 vgt (8854) vid card.
Today i decided to try out MSIs latest driver set(3030) and saw something weird. It has a tab called "AUTO ADJUST" for the Memory Clock. Well those that have a similar card know that it has a default of 500 or 510 setting but when i ran this thing it did some testing/looping etc. and i gave me a setting of (are you ready ??)..........599!!!!!!. Is this real or is it a bug ? Too bad the same does not apply for the Core Clock so i could fully O/C that too with MSIs blessing. now im gonna try some Benchmarking and play with the core too.....tell ya later what i see. |

i have used that util before and checked in rivatuner for clock speed and it reported the same numbers. My ti4200 memory would reach 607 before artifacts appeared.
it seems the util takes the memory to the max speed then backs off one notch to a stable speed, mind you i hav'nt ran the memory at 607 for any length of time due to it getting quite hot at that speed |

Well i benched it and it got stuck in game 4 of 3dmark2001
so i underclocked a notch but i see no difference from omegas drivers but the oppisite. I found a loss in points(about 70) with even the higher clocks than i did with omegas and much lower settings. So its back to Omegas......HE the man !! |
