Incase any of you were wondering what "Open" and "Closed" meant"

[color=#33FF33]Open[/color] - First valid entry with higher score than current title holder's score will recieve the avatar immediately for no less than one week.
[color=#FF0000]Closed[/color] - First valid entry with higher score than current title holder's score will recieve the avatar after the date mentioned for no less than one week.

I'll be rewritting the entire competition description and rules shortly. No rules will be changed, only rewritten for clarification. A new class might be added aswell for low end systems.

OMG, finally read this thread with all the trimmings. OMEGADRIVE, it has been confirmed you will be losing your trophy to me, with the 4.12B. As a matter of fact, in all 3 catagories. I will wait until the official 4.12s are released to see if I can extend this victory even further.

um, i was thinking of joining in on the competition, but some of my scores i haven't been able to post on futuremark's website because of connectivity issues. would a screenshot do me any good, or does it actually have to be posted on the website?

I'm catching up, CDs. I hit 8225 combined score earlier today with a 6 mhz OC on my FSB (was running at 3.7xx instead of 3.6). I'm gonna try hitting 210 or 213ish in a few days. Then I need to bust out ATI Tool to OC the graphics card. I'm like 180 points behind, lol. Silly Shuttle system. :b

P4 560 (LGA775 Prescott 3.6) @ 3755 MHz (208 MHz FSB)
Asus X800XT PCIe @ 519.75/560.25

3dmark03's giving me the most problems... every so often it'll crash out and then a texture will be corrupted. Usually re-installing it gets a good run through, though.

So, do you find HyperThreading on or off helps your score the most?

I think I'll see if I can OC the ram a bit... last I knew, it was a good oc'er.

That's at the limits of my machine... I can't OC my RAM on this box (except maybe with voltages, and voltages scare me), and I couldn't complete a test at 209/525/565 (FSB/core/mem).

So I've got no-where else to run. :b

For now it will have to wait until either my next computer or next video card. I just can't touch that 200 point gap in 3dmark03. And you don't even have a 6800U! (GT is 2nd to Ultra, right? I haven't been staying with nV's naming schema lately).

Anywho, congrats! That's a beefy system. It's been fun.

. I just like yourself, also feel that my memory is what is holding me back in obtaining better scores. And you're right about my video card. The 6800 Ultra is the next card above mine.

I have a thought for the AMD pro stock section. I think maybe that the SLI and non SLI boards should be split into two categories. SLI just gives their users such an advantage over us non SLI users.

Does anybody know if Intel is coming up w/SLI? If they are, then there should also be an Intel/AMD SLI category. I think it's unfair that peeps like -jAk- have the best "AMD pro stock" title but they only have an SLI rig whereas everybody else doesn't.

hey, what do u think of my new avater :-) sorry son_of_thunder, but i guess your new x800xl will more than make up for it. now where are the ppl with 9700/9800pros as they would steamroller my puny score!

) will come close to your score. Specs are very similar to yours
