O even better no RAID Maybe that is why your PCMark scores are lower than the BX2? Noot the fact that it is 64-bit XP?

I would like to enter stock, the only reason I can't is that I have a DX10 card. Someday I will go for liquid cooling but not now.

The Raptors eat the Seagates in RAID0, I have both and PCMark05 sure can tell the difference. CrystalDiskMark shows huge seperation between the two. You want Raptor performance, buy Raptors.

Bugger, I really wanted to enter this but PC Mark05 wont complete the XP startup (durr) and Web rendering tests on Vista 64

Also: 3DMARK06: 12610 but 3DMARK05: 16573! Anybody any suggestions?

I have no problems running PCMark05 on XP x64....wonder why your having this problem?

16k on 3d05? you can do better than that, my X1900XTX pulls 14300 by itself....

Might be the fact your running vista, and the Nvidia vista drivers suck.

I can't get pcmark working
Though I did a fresh XP installation with IE7 integrated maybe it would work now. But I would have to install WME, WMP and start the Themes service. I'm not sure if I want to do all this to my shiny clean system.

But maybe I could beat CDsDontBurn in CPU score...

pcmark05 fails the transparent windows test for me, and the futuremark site doesn't seem to be working, so I can't look for anything on there...

wha'ts your highest stable OC? mine is ~3.9Ghz on my scottie. though, with the proper settings i can post and almost get into windows at 4.1Ghz.

i would need to put in my corsair sticks though if i were to do OCing because my current OCZ sticks are crap for OCing. maybe i can just switch my OCZ RAM for my sister's Mushkint RAM, lol.

So much for beating you in CPU score
My Northwood can do 3.706 GHz stable (FSB 218 MHz). That probably won't be enough to beat your Prescott, but I'll post some scores for comparison

well, you might have a shot at beating me. it's mid-summer here, and hot as hell. I doubt i can't OC pretty high because of the heat. also, i haven't done any OCing of my machine for benchmarking in like a year, so i don't know how well my machine will be able to OC now.

i did OC my machine shortly after getting my OCZ sticks just to see how well it would do, and that's how i found out they were crap compared to my corsair sticks w/TCCD chips .

what would you like to benchmark me against? let me know and i'll compete w/you

I feel your heatwave pain too I was hoping for a 4GHz benchable speed here, but with 35C weather it just isn't possible anymore

yea, 35c is a bit warm. that's been the average here for the past week or so with the exeption of two days where it was ~30c. but, it's not even the hottest part of the year here in my area. that's still to come.

can't wait for august, nothing but heat! [/sarcasm]

OK, here are some scores. I don't have a pcmark05 score because I can't get it working properly...
I did the benchamarks with Hyperthreading enabled/disabled. Everything runs faster with HT enabled except 3dm06, which is actually slower.

3dmark05 cpu score - HT on/off: 4413/4267
3dmark06 cpu score - HT on/off: 814/1015
3dmark05 score - HT on/off: 4445/4391
3dmark06 score - HT on/off: 1913/1972

And finaly one real world benchmark - Blender rendering
Download test.blend (101 KB): http://www.eofw.org/bench/test.blend...322789d0f9d686
and SSE2 optimized Blender (11.8 MB): http://www.graphicall.org/builds/bui...on=show&id=419
It doesn't need to be installed and it uses its home dir only. Just extract the archive and run.
Open test.blend, set Threads to 2 and hit F12.

My render time is 1:54.80.

BTW, the weather here is hot too. Todays temps are ~35°C, should be 38 tomorrow. I have 28°C in my room right now and it's getting hotter

PCMark05 fails the transparent windows test, can't figure out why.

Clean boot, no programs open, latest non-beta WHQL drivers, and it doesn't give any error messages, other than displaying as "failed" in the summary.
