hey guys...its me!! (anyway, i need help overhere..)

hi everyone,
i know i know.....its been a while since i visted DH....sigh, i' havent been using me old PC since 5 months now, so ye cant blame me....(was so busy with life i guess....)
anyway, back to the topic......today is the first day i use me comp since 5 months now...yea....thats bad.~LOL BUt the problem is that i cant seem to OC now...=.=yeah wtf...a few hours ago, i felt like changing a better cooler before i start so i mounted an 900U to me old 2.6.....i unplugged everything before i mount it of course (and ye know what? that was me first time doing it) so i was wondering did i do anything wrong or what?
without the 900U i used to do 3.2 with the stock.....but after that i cant do nothing...when i OC a bit this showed up-----> "CPU OVER VOLTAGE, press F1 to go to setup and blah blah blah"
the thing is, i kind'a tried every combination but it wont work...damn!
so, maybe someone here could help...thankz in advance....
(oh yeah, if ye're curious, the Vcore in the bios reads 1.1643 that is when it says "overvoltage"..........@@'|||)

That's weird man, not sure how the heatsink itself could cause this. First clear the CMOS if you haven't already and try OCing again. Also what thermal paste did you use? You make sure none of it got on the mobo-not even a super tiny drop? Did you change fans along with the new heatsink? Was the old fan getting power off the mobo? Is the new one hooked up the same?
Good to have ya back btw

and urmm...nope i dont think i'm that careless cause i put the thermal grease onto the chip itself instead of putting it on the Heatsink..side's i didnt use much...

No worries bud There should be a three pin jumper somewhere. Just move it over a pin for 30 seconds. You can also remove the battery for 5 minutes. What mobo you running?

The CMOS jumper should be right by the battery itself. Turn off all power to the PC when doing this and remember you will clear everything in the BIOS so write thing down if need be. Leave on clear for 10-30 secs.
You can see it in this pic right over the battery. It the blue jumper

geez...it didnt work....i cleared the CMOS....but what do you know? right after the line ".......setup your time, date...." this follows "CPU over voltage error!"
and i have to set the Vcore to 1.5 to let it function properly..

Welcome back mate! Been a long time - we all missed you

Anyway - you might want to try and reflash the BIOS. Download the latest version from the mobo manufacturers website and follow the instructions they give you to flash it.

Do you have your voltage set to "auto" or do you have it manually set?
