OMG I hate my DTL stick

Man, this thing can't overclock for crap, I can get 1891 mhz from my 1733 easily by bumping FSB to 145 and leaving memory at speed, but whenever I put faster timings(and raise voltage to 2.8v), I can only get 139 FSB (1813 Mhz) @ 2-2-6-2, 1T, FAST command. that almost 80 mhz, and I bought this RAM cuz it had potential, I feel ripped, bah!!!

So I have some choices

a)Continue burning-in and hope this RAM gets into line

b)Be happy with the 1813 mhz and try to bench around that (I'm going for 12000 3d marks with my ti 4200, it's possible!!)

c)Be happy with the 1891 and screw the timings

or

d)Buy some Corsair PC3200 RAM (what I would LEAST like to do)

I could only tell you that,first,KT333 chipsets do not support DDR400(PC3200) very well from my experience,second SAMSUNG DDR333 RAM mostly can be overclocked to DDR400 without rasing its voltage,third,the memory bandwidth is more important than the enternal clock of CPU according to your system.good luck.

First of all i find it very unlikly for a Samsung PC2700 stick to only reach 139MHz

My Crucial PC2100 go 200MHz+ at spd timings

Secondly the KT333 may not support DDR400 while still running 133MHz FSB but i dont see the point in that. If the Memory can send data to the NB in 200MHz DDR but the NB cant forward it to the CPU faster then 133MHz then whats the point ? The KT333 can easy go to 200MHz DDR FSB with the right memory and baord with an unlocked CPU and then you will see a lot of performance increase.

it's all about the timings. and I bet that DTL will run 200fsb at 2.5 3-6-3-2T timings. Snipe try making CAS to 2.5 instead of 2 and see where that takes ya.
