The driverheaven testing rigs

well I thought id let you into the mess which is my computer room right now - these systems are used for alot of the driverheaven reviews so as you would expect its beyond messy.

there are three systems in this shot.

the system under the desk with the antec case (open) is the main rig, the one in my sig - P4 EE at 3.9ghz on water with the X800XT PE, the one on the far right in the black case is the PCIe system, again an EE currently with 2 gig of DDRII and a X800XT PE PCIe in it.

the final pc in the background (green case) is an AMD barton system with a 9800XT in it........

there are more rigs in the house but im not going to go into that !

You got the same case as I do Z, the antec 1080 Plus view.

I remeber you recommended to me a while ago, a good recommendation.

That's quite a few rigs there but not too messy for all the reviews you've been doing. Good to see where all the good DH reviews are coming from.. Nice monitor

PS. I see you are one of the few that still buys their dvds

certainly looks quite large when next to a case - images on the net can be so deceiving - and seeing measurements written down means nothing to me

Interesting choice of laptop - is that an Armada or an Evo, pretty sure its the 400. And one more question - are you a smartcard user?

You should be warned ahead of time with that bottle I'm assuming you have very little one around there somewhere.....

BUILD A BARB-WIRE FENCE AROUND IT ALL NOW!!!!!! My 1 year old is in a never ending attempt to get inside my cpu which is water cooled....you know what happens after that? Goodbye computer. She also likes to TRY to climb the computer chair. If she destroys the computer, she's getting a trip to military school.

Don't say you haven't been warned......

I'm not kidding on this.

I hear ya on that one.. I have 11 systems in my house and the 12th one will be built soon. I am building a inexpensive system for my 4 year old daughter. Figure that way if she messes anything up then it is her PC that is messed up and not one of my good ones.

My network here is my "school". I am 95% self taught and everything I have learned I have done by building my network here. Yes 12 PC's is alot but with that number I am able to do many things here. I run my own Web server, FTP server, mail server, DNS server, Trend Micro A/V server, MS SUS Server, IDS Monitor Server (Intrusion Detection), and several other things. Several PC's serve multiple rolls but like i said this is my learning enviroment.

As for my daughter getting her own PC, I am doing that for several reasons. 1) like I said before, if the OS gets goofed I don't loose any of my stuff, 2) I don't have to fight to get on my computer, 3) a sense of ownership and responsibility. Yes she is only 4 (well 4 in less then a month) but I everyone that meets her swears she is 7 becasue of the way she acts/talks. My wife and I figure it is never too early to teach them how to take care of things and keep up the things you own. This little girl already can Turn on the TV, Turn on the Stereo, Turn on the DVD Player, put the movie in she wants, and start the movie. And no I am not kidding. She is very bright and I feel she should have her own PC.

Good plan krazy1, I do the same (excepting the computer itself) with my 4 and 5 year old with the A/V system. If I could just get them to put the DVDs back in their case after... Taught myself networking too through what has been needed at work...

BTW - nice 'puters Z!
