waterccoling

Well ive been sharing some overclocking and modding with you and some of you will remember I hit around 29k in 3dmark a whlie ago with my extreme edition P4 and X800XT

I decided today to add the GPU waterccoling kit to my zalman reserator setup and ill share some pics of my silent, fast and pretty ugly setup :P I also added some ramsinks.......... temps are also down about 20c

and I finally broke 30,000 on 3dmark at 4ghz but the orb wasnt working earlier ill try again later.

Very nice.... Your PC is dusty like mine! That dust gets everywhere! Well done on the record for 3dmark! What is the worldest best score?

yah needs a little cleaning out, I run with the side panel off and the 92mm zalman on silent mode cooling the chipset, dust builds up in literally 3 days.

Messy looking system but with 5 hard drives, 3 optical drives, a Audigy 2, tv card, PCI raid board, 1 gig lan card, X800XT its not too bad.

3dmark01 is pretty dated, i just run it for interest now to be honest. the EE helps there, record? no idea, probably around 37-38k. but those scores arent really realistic, its just extreme overclockers running cascade systems or LN.

That's pretty crazy!

I'd hate to have my system like that for daily use, but I've seen much worse~ Imagine the lack of rounded cables!

Have you considered pushing your card even further with a little volt modding?

P.S - Why the extra Gigabit LAN PCI card?

its not the prettiest for sure, but its always being altered as it also doubles up as one of driverheavens AGP testing rigs so I leave the side panel off it (under a desk), also I have to say the temps with the side panel off are wonderful and you dont need any case fans - you will notice ive one fan, the zalman 92 mm this is really just to help the chipset cool with the overclocked EE, things can get hot in there. I also took off the little NB fan, I hate the whirring of small fans. terrible.

Watercool Chipset

If you can water cool the chipset effectively.. Then maybe it can be prettier. I don't notice my small chipset fan. But then again, my side panel is on.

Does your case allow a side fan? I go for cases which allow side fans and top exhaust fans. Mmm circulation.

Make that your sig pic

Just for a day or two Haha.. It shows your setup well. Did the cables come in that colour or did that happen over time? (I'm guessing the latter)

Hey Z...

How does your Asetek setup compare to your Zalman setup. It seems everyone is getting water cooling so I've been thinking about it..

Asetek about 2-3c cooler than the zalman, but alot louder even on lower fan mode. I prefer the zalman - no noise at all and it handles alot more than people seem to give it credit for.

hmm water cooling

See I really want a watercooling setup but im alittle unsure about it...plus its SOO EXPENSIVE!! I wanna get some DangerDan gear for my CPU and graphics card and each of those cost about 50USD... What is the cheapest, and best solution in your opinion to a water cooling system?

If you build a custom system it will be cheaper than a kit and give you better performance. DD stuff is great by the way.

Yeah I am seriously considering getting his MAZE-4 with a peltier attached. the temps on that are WICKED

how do I go about making a custom system? And remember, i want it to look good. I have a very nice sleek black computer. Simple yet elegant(on the outside anyway) I want this to remain that way. is it still possible or am I gunna have to go to the Zalman?

It is pretty easy after alot of thought and planning to keep it all inside. Lord knows I changed things way to many times for sanity before I decided to keep it this way. Let me know if you need any help.
