exclamation what cases you recommend?

hi all,
im looking to upgrade my p-4 simple case to something with much better cooling and space , but in a reasonable price.
atm i have a quite stuffed case with 2 IBM harddrives sitton on on top of the other with allmost no space between them and they spread lots of heat. alltough my cpu is in normal temps 35-50c most of the time. im not overclocking much but i intend to push my 9800pro much more when i vga silencer it (waiting for the new silencer to come out with the nividia 6xxx and x800 compatability)
i have many posibilities but im really clueless as there are so many case brands outthere.
from the little info i gathered i see there are cases with and witout psu (i have quite a new 1fan 350v psu but i wouldnt mind a good case that come with a psu of its own)
another thing i like are the cases that have some kind of visability in like a plastic window on the side pannel.
what do you think will be good options for me to consider?

thanks , ledzep.

isnt the mirror finish beautiful? they are basically modded coolermaster cases with 2 x 120mm fans and a smaller fan included as standard.

the mirror finish has to be seen, my mate bought one.

thanks guys ,
cowboy it looks fine and wow really cheap but its not avaliable where im at
same for the thermaltake the tsunami isnt abaliable here.
ill have to look at the international shipping costs but i guess it will be pointless buying it online.
btw this 2 cases are without a psu right?

cheers , ledzep.

Yeah, definitely. It looks like the Antec Sonata polish taken to the next level. If I was on air I would be strongly considering one of these

Edit- Where are you located ledzep?

Those are some quality companies there but they all have way too many models. Lian Li, Thermaltake, Antec, CoolerMaster and Chieftec all make quality cases but you'll have to narrow it down. Is there a store you can look around?

This is the case I have. The back fits 2 80mm fans. You will need to cut to put in a 120mm. At least on mine.

i have 2 IBM 8gb cash@7200rpm IDE hard drives (80+120gb) they are now located one above the other on the front and no fan is directed at them, they are sitting in their "slots" and have maybe 2-3mm seperation between them , they get relly hot and also heat eachother quite alot.
first is this normal spacing between them?
what sould be the optimal spacing when i go and look at a new case?

thanks , ledzep.

Big Grin Go Aluminum and Screwless

Love my Antec p180 ... Extremely light, 120mm fans, blah, blah
Was looking at the kingwin 424 I think because it offered 2.0mm thick aluminum or something like that...i.e. sturdy
In the end, I really wanted easy access to my usb ports and I liked the temp sensors, hence my final choice
Tomshardware had a recent review check that out for sum good opinions...

P.S. TEAR DOWN THE WALL!

I would probably go with the Antec Super LanBoy becuase it uses 120mm fans. But I'm very noise-sensitive, any of them will do you good really.

They list the rpms and cfm for the cases in those sites. The LanBoy pushes close to 40cfm at only 25dBA whereas the others push 17cfm at the same noice level. The larger the fan the more air it pushes at the same or lower rpms of a smaller fan

hi dipstick

ok im also looking at 3 therma;take cases they all this fan specifications:
Front 80x80x25 mm, 2050rpm, 21dBA
Side 80x80x25 mm, 2050rpm, 21dBA
Rear 90x90x25 mm, 1800rpm, 21dBA
Side Door 90x90x25 mm, 1800rpm, 21dBA

unfortunatly thermaltake don't give the cfm for this fans.
how noisy do you think this 4 fan configuration is gonna be?

ledzep.

The thermatake's are nice cases too, they come with the fan controller which lets you adjust the rpms to your liking so they can be loud or quiet. But I think those have 7 fans which can get noisy but like I said they are not that bad if you turn them down. Any of these cases are good, I'd go with the one you wouldn't mind looking at..

prodigal jenius has one of those. quite different looking I agree, not too sure about the amount of fans mind you...... id have to make sure they were silent fans. that thing could get REALLY loud.

Thermaltake Xaser III - 7 fans. I sold it on. Trust me if you dont like noise you WONT want one of these cases or you will need to speed time ripping them out and replacing them with decent fans. Didnt like the case at all. looks fine mind you in photos, but flimsy side panel and a few things I didnt like apart from the noise levels.

80mm case fans = noise, 7 80mm fans = lots of noise (even at lowest setting).

good to see thermaltake have learned and the new cases have 120mm fans.... much more efficient and LOWER noise !

Probably wouldn't use all the fans - just a couple.

I really want one for the extra space. The Antec I have now is getting too crowded with the water cooling, 4 hard disks and 2 optical drives.

ok mate so better go with the antec it has 2x120mm fans , so i guess it will be quieter.

I had the A2000 myself. It wasn't that bad once I removed the side/top fans and it dropped my cpu/mobo temps by 10c Not sure why but those side fans made things 10 times worse and louder. But if I were to get a new case it would have to use 120mm fans and it would still require a fan controller
