Well i got an AMD64 3400+, running at stock speed.

As seen in picture, this is my idle temp at the moment. It differs between 38 - 44 (dependig on ambient temperature in my room) The highest full load temperature is 50 degrees Celsius.

The HSF is the one that came with the CPU. Concerning case cooling I got one extra fan blowing from the side on top of my vidcard and 2 are placed at the back of the case, near the CPU. They don't cool that great, they are more for looks at the moment. All in all the system is running very cool.

Do you have the 3400+ that runs @ 2.2ghz or 2.4ghz? Hmm considering your case cooling and the fact that your using the stock HSF I should be pretty good on temps.

I have the 2.2Ghz version. I'm going to change the 2 fans at the back for better ones.

I have an A64 3400+ 2.2Ghz with an SLK948 using the fan from the stock heatsink(70mm) and it idles at 33c and loads at about 41c. Not OCed in an Antec Sonata case with a single 120mm fan(1800rpm). Good temps for such a quiet setup

Thanks guys. Hmm I'll be using a 948 w/ a vantec tornado (92mm) with either a lianli pc-v1000 or thermaltake tsunami case. So I should be good with my 3000+ and having temperature headroom for OCing it.
