Alrighty then...
I'm very familar with cutting metal /w my dremel kit. However, I have never cut plexi before. You'll notice the case I have in my specs. Now what I need to know is any recommendations for doing this correctly? The reason is I'm changing the case I have over to 120mm fans before I go H2O. A template or something would also be handy if someone knows where I can download one. Thanks in advance. |

i dont have any experience, but from what I remember you should use a lower speed than max so you dont melt the plexi. Use a cd outline for 120 mm holes, then use the fan housing to know where the mountin holes should go, cds are 120 mm wide.

When I do it......I use masking tape to cover the whole area......draw on my template.....drill a couple of starter holes......then use a jig saw with a blade that has small teeth. Then I can use a file and different grits of sand paper to clean up the cut edges......a little plastic polish will make it look professional. The key to it is.......take your time.

if you just wanna mount the fans onot the plexi glass couldn't you just drill evenly spaced holes in the plexiglass and mount it directly onto it?

Defintely go with a blade if you can otherwise you could prolly get away with do an outline drill a LOT of holes and cut the piece between the holes, and then clean it up with sanding etc. I've done that a few times outa desperation

ease but a 120mm hole cutter from some place like low's
use it return it (it's pricey) ![]() clean the edges up with a dreamel then use a ulta fine tip torce and round the edge ever so slightly but I suggest you slice up the the circule you cut out and practice

yeah, a holesaw would be good, but at lowes and home depot they dont have the right size usually in stock for a 120 mm. They have like 114 mm and 127, but never have the 121s, so I just use a dremel instead.
