amd 2400 vs barton 2500

hi !
i have oc my amd 2400+ cpu to 11X200 to get the best of it.
i want to know if i will get a amd barton 2500+ and oc it to 11X200
will i get much better results becuse of it's 512kb L2 cache?
my specs r:
amd 2400+ @ 11X200=2200
abit a7n REV 2.0
2X256 A DATA PC 3200 DDR CL3
ATI 9800PRO STOCK
VOLCANO 12

I GET 39.203 ON AquaMark3
GFX=5439
CPU=6961
TNX

The extra cache is extremely benefical for rendering and intensive computation calculations, on the other hand if all you do is game the benefits arent vast.

For the price though, selling on your TB and purchasing a barton is a wise move. shouldnt cost you very much at all.

Adding to the above......I noticed that you have "2X256 A DATA PC 3200 DDR CL3" listed for your memory....what timings are you running it at? If it is CL3....then running at CL2 will make a nice little difference.........and with some of today's games.....running 2x512 will make a nice difference as well.....Far Cry for one

as you're buying a new cpu get the mobile barton 2500+ or whatever's available!

get a mobile definately like Geminiwave said. If not, i'd get an xp2600 instead.... at 11.5x200 = 2.3Ghz instead of the 2.2Ghz. An extra 100Mhz but the same 512Kb L2 cache. The difference is miniscule i know, but i think it's worth it.
