Artic Cooling VGA Silencer Rev.3 Power Troubles

I just purchased a 9800 Pro 256MB card from someone on Ebay. From what I've heard, I think it's a Sapphire. It has the R360 core so I'm guessing that it's a 9800XT in disguise (sp?) Anyway, the artic cooler power cable has two female plugs on its power connector, but the male connector on the Radeon has three. Does this mean that I can't use the cooler on the card? I hope not. Any help would be appreciated.

From what i have heard the VGA Silencer will only work with the 128 version of the 9800 Pro so i am not sure. I plan on buying one for my card.

you have no problem mate.
quoting from the VGA silencer manual : (just installed one yesterday)
"if there are 3 pole connector on the VGA board, install the 2 pole plug in such a way that the red and black pins are at the same place they where before"

in simple words this 2 female will fit on the 3 pole male connector on the vga board , you only have 2 options find out which one makes the fan go...

cheers , ledzep.

here is the manual:

Thanks! It worked. I was worried for a minute that I had just purchased a very heavy paperweight!

System Specs

Donator
|I installed one of these today on my X800 Pro lOL

idle temps droped from 52c to 45c and 75c to 65c under max load.
this was at 555mhz core 555mhz memory.

now my card is a speed freak with nice cooling.

on the vga card was 3 pin fan conection and on the vga rev 3 is was 2 pin connecter.

you just have to connect the last 2 pins from the top of the card like this

------------ TOP OF CARD --------------------------------------

POWER CONENCTION
