A64 or XP-M oc to 2.5ghz
Before I go home today (on lunchbreak) I am ordering one of these cpus. Either the Athlon 64 (not sure which model probably 2800-3200s only) or get a XP-M and overclock it to about 2.5ghz. I'm sure this has been talked about but I'm on lunch break and ordering in a few hours, so I don't have time to search. Thanks.

the a64 would be nice, as i would think the a643200+ would be able to perform better than a XP-M. but i don't have a XP-M only a A64 3200+.

well I honestly dont see any reason to buy a 32bit AMD cpu anymore unless its for a second system or funds are tight,. if you are buying AMD get a 64 bit processor. when 64 bit windows hits the shelves you will see gains.

A 2.2GHz A64 will absolutely murder a 2.5GHz AXP in gaming. There are some things where the clock speed would make up the difference but overall the A64 will walk all over it. Also any A64 can be OCed 200-300MHz with a nice board
