REGENERAT1ON is on a distinguished road

recommendation for Heatsink/Fan

AMD 2800 o/c to 3400+ idle 48c and load 55c
using stock heatsink with 4800rpm 80mm fan
and lame silicon thermal compound..

what you think about Volcano 9 ? (very cheap)
or you suggesting better HS/F

That is fine. Unless you mean to overclock more or are looking for a less noisy solution then you don't need another cooler.

sp and slk cost w/ 92mm fan cost 88$..
Volcano 12 cost 40$

88$ erm.. its a rip off.. i can get 512 ddr chips for that price.. 88$ for heatsink with fan.. its not worth the price.. even if its that good

thermalright is definatly awesome. Though the heatpipes may cause problems with space issues...if you have an ASUS board, I'd be careful about using that. It might not fit.

that being said, the version WITHOUT heatpipes is a great cooler. It keeps my 2800+ at around 40C with NO FAN! the fan takes it even lower. Granted I live in seattle so its not the warmest (it got up to about 95 this summer) but still its not bad. Oh yeah btw for those who are asking "how did you keep it at 40C when it was 95 outisde?" Well our basement keeps at a nice 70 degrees year round. I love basements.
