Great way of testing CPU stability
get Divx player. Download any one of their High def trailers. Run it several times on highest quality with all eye candy. I have an AMD 2800+ and it got it pretty high up there in usage. Its really nice and I would suggest people to try this out. It seems to be a great test.

I ussually Prime95 my systems and test it with UT2003, it's strange but UT2003 is soo extremely sensitive to overclocking that the slightest instabillity will cause a general protection error in it. While all other games run flawless, even UT99 or UT2004 with the same settings, UT2003 will show your instabillity.
Whenever i can run a clanwar (2 maps, 20 mins each) with UT2003 and don't crash it ussually means my system is rockstable. This is only when overclocking tho, not when running default.

I say the same thing with UT2003... its the only game that fully told me that my ports were damaged.. and when my processor got too hot

ports? you mean like internet ports?
I found that UT2004 was a nice thing to tell me that I'd gone too far with graphics, but now that you guys mention it, I'll try UT2003. I found that UT2004 was the WORST game to check when graphics card OCing. I was using it exclusively back in the day when I first had my card and I was like "YESS! I GOT TO 500MHZ!!! WOW I R0X0RZ SO FSKING MUCH!!!" and then later I was happy and played some other game and the screen just scrambled so much that it went into sleep mode. Yeah... bad times. but my card survived so its all good.

hahaha
"WOW I R0X0RZ SO FSKING MUCH!!!" yea...some other games show OCing a little more...like doom 3 and even Raven Shield (based on a pre-ut2003 version of the unreal warfare engine...it shows artifacts and glitches way before anything else.) |
