I've seen this before over @ xtremesystems. I was under the impression that the nf2 chipsets didn't support C2 or atleast nVidia hadn't documented on how to enable it., but I'll give it a whirl.

I don't have a NF2 motherboard and am just curious for the sake of trying to get to know that to recommend to others, but could someone try to compare the practical effect of this to s2kctl? (http://www.stargaz0r.nm.ru/) Remember also that a difference of 1C is too small to call a difference by judging from regular onboard probes, as they aren't too exact.

well S2KCTL tool is just basic bus disconnection (8/8)
its already configured in the BIOS for most of nforce2mobos so its kinda useless.
i used it for nf2-s v2.0 and cant feel diffrence
but it did well on my other VIA based mobos long ago :P

Running S2kctl should assure that the same basic feature is activated regardless of the motherboard, wich good for comparison to this new thing. Otherwise there could be results pop'ing up in here that compare this enhanced idle 'cooling' mode with no mode at all. Comparing to the more basic mode makes the feedback more worthwile. S2kctl also use no system resources, just like the BIOS function.

NF7 based mobos support s2k bus disconnection. 3rd party tools are totaly useless but if you wanna check it try S2KCTL/CpuIdle/etc.. and you will notice no diffrence at all (we tried it before and thats why we wrote the patch)

3rd party utilities could help unknown motherboards with old BIOS
every nf2 boards has bus disconnection bios in the bios or its already enabled

What is this utility actually doing to lower temps?
I have seen 3C° lower Idles and 4C° Loads, using it.
However when in the BIOS the temps are back where they were without the util.

because the service running on windows startup. everytime you reboot its has to load again (since the BIOS set chipset settings) for example:
if you use nvidia system utility and change the FSB.. after you reboot its will discard the settings.. same here

OK That makes sense, I guess I kind of knew that.
However what is the service doing to actually help cool the CPU?

ok guys whats going on here, ive had a few email complaints with links to this thread saying the NGO crew are stealing tweaks and renaming the credits.

Id appreciate anyone with INFO could pm me please, I dont like the thoughts of people ripping off others work and taking credit, we had enough of that with DNA over here.

anyone care to explain?

lets put the facts on the table:

1.there is nothing like our patch by performance and you can feel free to compare (CpuCool/CpuIdle/S2KCTL/dont know.. dont care)

2.we will not waste our time on immature people who all they can do is to jealous/blame

3.i didnt wanted to say it but if that S2KCTL author that smart why he never included this patch in his earley versions? i doubt he didnt even understand whats it does and instead of asking us nicely he saying stuff like "oh yea you stealing credits" well as far as i know there is no credits to steal because there is nothing close to our patch.

4.since no one used this before there is NO CREDITS TO STEAL

5.you have no idea who we have permissions from and who's i dont. you claim for stuff you dont even know. the tweak is not licensed as well and it investgated by our crew. ive seen people checking the "tweak" but non of them actully have idea what it does. no one posted it or worked it out.

bottom line:
do not claim what you dont know/sure.
we didnt stole nothing and we dont like being blamed by unprofessional people who dont know who we work with. and the only people who make me sick thats people who think they know everything but in truth they have NO CLUE.
