nForce2 C1/C2/C3 Cooling Patch by The NGO Group
This patch will allow nForce2 chipset based motherboards to use C1/C2/C3 advanced cooling mode instead of the basic S1 mode and reduce idle temperatures by 5-10c degrees! supports only Windows XP/2000!
unlike other utilities this is only a device driver (less ram usage) and since nForce2 has BIOS programmed S1 bus disconnection. other cooling utilities (using S1 mode) are useless with the nForce2 chipset! http://www.newgenerationorder.org/C2NGO.zip please post feedbacks Last edited by REGENERAT1ON; Sep 9, 2004 at 04:35 AM. |

I installed it. It says it's cooler, but is that really the case or does it just fudge with the temps?

TexasNemesis: control panel add and remove programs..
before you uninstall check again you dont have any other cooling utilites that can may conflict. if its not that its probably because you have "unknown" motherboard.. |

and dont be confused by S2KCTL/CpuIdle because these tools only set S1 mode (basic mode),C1 (advanced) and since nForce2 already use S1 mode (programmed and enabled by default in the BIOS) these tools are actully useless for nF2 chipsets. and since i am using device driver its taking lower ram usage unlike cpuidle/others.. What i can gather from the inf this installs as a service, correct?
I've installed it now and i don't see either it listed in services or my idle temps being any lower. |

the service modify on the fly the BIOS on windows bootup.
its suppose to be in the service list in the device manager (show hidden devices) non plug and play drivers.. if its not exist there.. reinstall using right click on the inf and choose install |

It's there, no difference in idle temps using a DFI Infinity II mobo with the latest bios installed.
Edit: Uninstalled it along with what i thought was remnants of cpu idle... however after reinstalling it popped back up under non plug and play, isn't that a bit naughty using their stuff?

whow...I just installed this on my secondary computer with nForce2, and the CPU temp has never been this low. From like avarage 45-47 into 38-39 (idle ofcourse
) If those numbers are lies, I don't know. But atleast it looks good Will try it out on my main computer. |

It dropped only the CPU temp by 1-2 idle (Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe).

Well, it says my CPU is 33 C, which is pretty low. Now I want to get some better RAM and see how far I can push it. Or maybe I'll just buy a quieter fan.

you have NF7 2.0. you can push it up without new ram (change dram multiplier)
or try to increase dram voltage by 0.2v |
